Live West?

At the West gate of Yellowstone National Park, we are a small mountain community that has been hosting visitors since the early 1900's.  Tourism is the economic mainstay of our town.

The Town of West Yellowstone incorporated in 1966 and adopted a self-governing charter in November of 1980.  Currently the community operates with a strong-council form of government and a Town Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations.

Our Location

The Town of West Yellowstone sits at an elevation of 6,666 feet, in the southwestern portion of the state just four miles from Wyoming and eight miles fromIdaho.  Our community is 90 miles south of Bozeman, Montana and 100 miles north of Idaho Falls, Idaho.
