So, if you're traveling at that time, the secret is to find the spots less traveled. Whether inside or outside of the Park, sometimes a very short walk can yield the surprise of solitude.

What the seasons bring

Mountain weather can be very unpredictable, so the trick is always be prepared. Dress in layers so that you can add or subtract for comfort. In winter, just use heavier layers. And the wise traveler is always prepared for precipitation.

West Yellowstone tends to be a very sunny place. In any season, sunscreen is almost always appropriate. Springtime is more wet and cloudy; summer brings hot days and cool nights; fall is crisp and bright; while in winter our coldest nights are generally followed by our most brilliant days.
